As an experienced practitioner, we provide supervision during the student’s clinical practice and facilitate the application of theory to practice for students. We work with the learner for a defined period to assist the learner in acquiring new competencies required for safe, ethical, and quality practice. Through observation and direct instruction we offer effective feedback, opportunities to meet the student’s learning objectives and help students translate theoretical learning to real-world clinical practice.

We offer the ability to:
Bridge the gap between theory and actual practice.
Orient students to the practice setting.
Assist students in planning clinical assignments based on course objectives and student-articulated learning needs.
Provide supervision of students on a one-to-one clinical basis until the student and preceptor deem direct supervision is no longer necessary.
Provide weekly feedback to students.
Review and co-sign all student documentation in clinical records.
Submit a Student Evaluation Form of the practice experience to Clinical Faculty Advisor, as requested.
Serve as a role model to students.
Maintain an open line of communication with the student’s advisor.
