Weight Loss

Ready for a Lifestyle Change?

Understanding what a healthy weight is in comparison to being overweight or obese can be difficult. Most health care providers gauge weight in relation to your height to define a healthy or unhealthy weight using the Body Mass Index (BMI). Individuals with a BMI between 25 and 30 are typically considered overweight, and those with a BMI of 30 or greater are considered obese. However, BMI is not the most reliable way to gauge a person’s health or whether or not they are at a healthy weight. BMI does not measure body fat content and does not take into account muscle mass, bone density, overall body composition, racial and gender differences.
At Footsteps to Wellness, we take a unique approach than most health care providers. We gauge your health by taking all of those factors into account that BMI doesn’t provide you, to incorporate the right medical weight loss options for your needs. We measure your weight loss success by your metabolism and body composition, not just by the number of pounds you’ve lost. Through your journey, we emphasize the importance of adopting healthy habits, such as balanced nutrition, regular exercise, restful sleep and mindful eating. By incorporating these lifestyle changes, you can maintain long-term success on your weight loss journey.
